AYATS

Ayats is the trading name of Carrocerias Ayats SA, a Spainbased coachbuilder. The company constructs a variety of coach bodies on many different chassis, as well as make their particular built-in products. Their products are used throughout Europe.

The business was created in 1905 by Mr. Juan Ayats in Arbucies, a hamlet within the Selva county of the province of Girona, Catalonia, Spain. This village offered the edge of being in the middle of a thickly forested area, useful since the bodyworks were made of wood in the time. Ayats is one of several coachbuilders based in Arbucies; others contain Indcar, Beulas, Boari and Noge.

As the stage for specialist double deck coaches including sleeper buses and open top buses ayats Bravos have been employed for any number of years. The Ayats Bravo City was the first purposebuilt open top lowfloor tour bus, introduced by the global sightseeing operator City Sightseeing.
