British United Traction

British United Traction was a combined company owned by Leyland Motors and the Related Equipment Company which created railway equipment and trolleybuses. It was founded in 1946.
British United Traction was a leading provider of diesel engines for British Rail's firstgeneration diesel multiple units. 
A 275 hp version was furnished to Ulster Transport Authority for their UTA MPD category railcar.
