Cop in New Orleans found shot to death in cruiser

Last Up-Dated May Possibly 2 4, 2015 1:13 PM EDTNEW ORLEANS - A policeman together with the Housing Authority of New Orleans (HANO) was discovered shot to death in a cruiser Sunday morning, officials said.CBS affiliate WWL TV reports that early Sunday Morning policemen arrived in the scene in the Central-City area near South Robertson and Freret roads to locate the driver's side-window broken. The policeman, who is not named however, was discovered dead in the automobile. Policeman Garry Flot said the policeman was operating over-time to safeguard in the building site of the Guste Homes public-housing complex. NOLA.com reviews no one lives close to the scene of the shooting. He stated the policeman's body was discovered about 7:10 a.m. Sunday, after housing authority police radioed a contact stating an officer had been shot. He explained the police car seemingly rolled one to to 2 blocks before hitting a kerb and quitting. HANO Police Chief Robert Anderson claims the policeman's name will not be released because his family is not notified. Flot stated the policeman was 4 5 years old and had worked for the section since 2013.The HANO police chief told WWL TV it is the the very first killing of a HANO policeman in its history.HANO manages all low income public-housing in New Orleans.
