Details on the new Volvo S60 Cross Country ahead of the Detroit show
It has been just known that Volvo has added a new Volvo S60 Cross Country to its lineup. Moreover, here we can talk about the creating of a totally new segment in the auto industry –a crossover sedan.
The auto manufacturer is preparing to present its new model at the annual auto show, which takes place next week in Detroit.
According to the carmaker, the novelty will be the first model in the new crossover sedan segment. The Volvo S60 Cross Country will include both a capability of the sedan and rugged styling cues as well.
The S60 Cross Country is based on the standard version of the S60. In spite of that, the novelty gets the new higher clearance by 2.6 inches. Moreover, the platform, which the new car built on, is able to be equipped with the all-wheel-drive and powertrain technologies.
The automaker plans to offer the novelty for the U.S. market equipped with the 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbocharged engine, which produces the output of 250 horsepower and the torque of 266 lb-ft. The S60 Cross Country gets the six-speed automatic gearbox as standard.
However, Volvo is also planning to offer its novelty equipped with a five-cylinder diesel units and four-cylinder powertrains. In addition, the S60 Cross Country will be available with the front-wheel-drive for other auto markets.
The standard pack of the novelty includes the 18-inch wheels with the high-profile tires. Meanwhile, the 19-inch wheels are also available as an optional feature.
The new Volvo S60 Cross Country is expected on the auto markets at the end of this summer. Pricing has not been announced yet, but most likely, the starting price is from 41,925 dollars as well.
