Germany, the U.K and the U.S.A. will become main markets for the BMW i8
The BMW brand has founded countries where will sell its plug-in hybrid i8. The United States will be the largest market then there will be the United Kingdom, France and Germany as representatives in Europe.
It is expecting that the i8 models' potential customers will be well provided for 35-aged men.
The BMW brand introduced the prototype of i8 at a test in in Miramas, France. According to the official report, after the beginning production of the i8 there will be about nine months to present the new model at dealers’ showrooms all over the world.
The i8 will be expected to sell in nearby 50 countries.
The BMW brand made decision to iterate the selling experience as with the electric i3, the i8 also will be sold through the Internet, by phone or sales managers will come to customers for completing the dealership.
BMW may offer convenient conditions for customers who buy the i8 and plan travelling for long distance. For example, within the bounds of the special BMW program “360 Degrees Electric service”, supporting owners of electric vehicles, people who has bought the i3 model will be granted cars of five series to travel anywhere at their weekends.
Next month the i8 will be introduced at the Auto Show in Frankfurt.
The car's length is 4700 mm, the width is 1940 mm and the height is about 1300 mm. Its wheelbase is 2800mm.
Besides its electric motor on the front axle, the i8 will be equipped with a 1.5-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine on the rear axle that will issue 231 horsepower. Two engines together will produce the power of 362 hp, accelerating the car to 100 km/h in about 4.5 seconds. The electronically limited maximum speed is 250 km/h.
The mean fuel consumption is nearby 2.5 liters per 100 km and this model emits 59 grams of CO2 per kilometer.
