Auto enthusiasts can rejoice, a new year is upon us. And with a new year comes a new lineup of cars of all marques and models.

What are American drivers looking for behind the wheel this year? Will the new cars of 2019 measure up to previous years?

Read on to discover what those in the know are looking forward to driving.

Most Anticipated New Cars of 2019

1. 2019 Acura RDX

Following the award-winning act of the 2018 Acura RDX, the 2019 model is looking to up their game.

Acura’s idea for their future cars seems to be: improve on the past. The 2019 model takes the visual design of the 2018 option and adds sharper lines and more dynamic angles.

The vehicle comes with all-new new 10-speed automatic transmission to pair with the turbocharged engine.  Also featured is a new and improved all-wheel drive that increase torque 150%.

The dashboard features a massive, touchscreen infotainment system mounted in the center console.  The screen is set at the driver’s eye-level, cutting down on the amount of time you have to take eyes off the road.

2. 2019 Cadillac XT4

The Cadillac XT4 marks a special occasion.  It’s the manufacturer first foray into compact SUV’s.

The XT4 features a new engine and nine-speed transmission, also new to the model.  The car can go from zero-to-60 in quick, satisfying launches that make gear shifts nigh-unnoticeable.

Built to be turbulence-free, you’ll forget there’s road beneath your wheels.

But XT4 really excels in its interior.  While the vehicle is compact, drivers and passengers above average height should fit comfortably in the front and back seats.

The 8-inch dashboard “infotainment” screen is controlled by a dial mounted on the armrest. That means no more distracted driving while you navigate to your favorite channel!

3. 2019 Chevrolet Silverado

Fresh off arrival, the 2019 Chevy Silverado ranks near the top in full-size pickup trucks. It covers all the bases–quality performance with space for the whole family–make it a viable option for your next truck.

Buyers have a whopping five options of engines for their Silverado. 285-horsepower V6; 310-turbocharged horsepower four cylinders; A pair of V8s, 355- and 420-horsepower; and a turbodiesel.

The Silverado rides smoothly for a truck and handles better than most cars its size. It’s about 500 pounds lighter than the 2018 model.

Still, it can’t quite measure up to the RAM 1500.

Those looking for cargo space will find the Silverado plentiful. The beds have been expanded in all directions for the 2019 model, with three options for size.

4. 2019 Jaguar I-Pace

Billed as direct competition to the Tesla Model X, Jaguar is set to release the 2019 I-Type, the manufacturer’s first electric car.

So far, the contest has been successful. The I-Pace ranks first in luxury compact SUVs and hybrid/electric SUVs, cementing it as one of the best new cars of 2019. Flaws with the I-Pace come down to personal preferences and nitpicking.

The I-Pace accelerates with ease and is virtually silent as it does. The car is so versatile that is capable of going off-road if the driver prefers.

The interior of a Jaguar comes with expectations, and the I-Pace will not let you down. Inside, you’ll find a panoramic sunroof and plush, synthetic-leather seats. Buyers willing to upgrade can get a Windsor leather interior.

5. 2019 BMW X7

The BMW X7 joins BMWs lineup as their largest SUV (or, “sports activity vehicle”, as they prefer). Expanding on the X5, the X7 comes with a full-size third row.

The X7 will be available two different trim levels, each with its own powertrain. The xDrive40i comes equipped with a six cylinder engine with 335 horsepower while xDrive50i features a 456 horsepower V8.

The infotainment system features dual 12.3-inch screens, with touch and voice control.

6. 2019 Genesis G70

The Genesis is the outsider of this group.  It wasn’t long ago that Korean vehicles were the unreliable, “affordable” (here meaning “cheap”) option.

Recently, Korean manufacturers have stepped up their game and finally become competitive with Japan, but the luxury market has always been just out of reach.

Luxury sedans aren’t meant for going top speed around the track or winding down the Pacific Coast Highway. So what really matters is how the G70 will make you feel on your morning commute.

In a word: good.  Diamond-stitched leather seats lend the G70 a sleek, designer aesthetic that doesn’t belie the reasonable sticker price.

7. 2019 Infiniti QX50

For 2019, Infiniti overhauled the QX50 from the ground up.

One of their smallest crossovers, the QX50 comes with a newly designed engine that makes for smooth sailing.

The QX50 comes fully decked out with gadgets to improve your driving.  A surround-view parking camera, parking sensors, Bluetooth capability, and a projected dash-display make this among the more innovate of 2019 cars.

8. 2019 Ford Ranger

Back from the dead (by popular demand) after being discontinued in 2011. The Ford Ranger has yet to be released, but here’s what we know so far.

The vehicle will be released with the option to upgrade for optimal off-roading. The upgrade includes a Terrain Management System, skid plates, and a host of other features.

The Ranger will fully utilize its four-cylinder engine, receiving power from a ten-speed transmission built to maximize efficiency.

Some of the crucial details are still missing. However, given the models return to the market, it’s certain to be one of the most anticipated 2019 cars coming out.

9. 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe

Hyundai swapped their model tires around this year. For 2019, the company rebranded the Santa Fe Sport as simply “Santa Fe”.

Like the previous “Sport” models, the 2019 Santa Fe is a midsize, two-row, crossover.

There are some changes–a longer hood, trim overhang on the front–to make the Santa Fe more like a typical SUV.

The backseat is particularly spacious, with enough room to comfortably fill all three seats.

All-told, the Santa Fe is among the best new cars 2019 has to offer for the growing family.
