Autobianchi

Autobianchi Logo
Bianchi The business was set up within the late-nineteenth century by Eduardo Bianchi. The first products were bikes, but also created automobiles since 1905.

After WW2 the business couldn't continue the creation of autos for fiscal reasons. Bianchi started in 1955 with Pirelli Autobianchi brand and Fiat. In 1958, Bianchi needed to give his share of the business to other partners. The exact same year-he began marketing the very first version of Autobianchi, the Bianchina, founded in the Fiat 500.

Since 1967 Autobianchi was a part of the unique Italian Fiat association. Fiat used the Autobianchi brand to test market new methods without damaging the standing of the Fiat brand. Autobianchi automobiles were made more lavish and better equipped compared to the Fiat, currently serving a niche-market and were consequently also higher priced.

In the 1960 Autobianchi Primula joined Giardiniera and launched. The Primula was the first Fiat group auto with transverse motor, front-wheel drive and tailgate. Later would come the Autobianchi A112 and A111, whose engines were in the Fiat group. The A111 was comparable for the Fiat 124 4-door frontwheel drive. The A112 was probably the most effective version of the symbol and was made for over 16 years. His popularity was matched by no other Autobianchi model. Both had the engine and front-wheel drive, the A112 was based in the Fiat 127.

The A112 Abarth was enhanced by raising the power at 58, 69 and 70 hp. However through the development period of the A112 prototypes were created more than 100 hp, however, these small fireballs wouldn't have had a fair cost, in order that Carlo Abarth was content to initially raise power to 58 hp.

Lancia Y10

Outside Italy the A112 was the last product offered under the brand Autobianchi, until in 1982 it started advertising under the brand Lancia. From the perspective of the Fiat group was a legitimate conclusion, except that Lancia had no car, because Lancia and Autobianchi served the same industry. As a result of increased prevalence of Lancia, Autobianchi brand was removed. The successor versions were the Lancia Y10 (that has been advertised in Italy for some Y10), and Autobianchi time as Lancia Y Lancia Ypsilon.
