HISTORY

1962 5 years following the first hand-directed BOMAG roller was released, the self-propelled BW 200 7-tonnes-tandem roller is started to be used on large-scale projects.

1970 BOMAG got by KOEHRING Company, Milwaukee/WI, United States, giving BOMAG accessibility to significant world markets; BOMAG United States opens in Buffalo Springfield/Ohio.

1972 to '74 Product variety expands with the improvement of light tandem rollers, selfpropelled rollers, plate compactors and tampers.

1976 Plant growth with a fresh Study and Development center - still the sole one of its own type on earth. (as all makes want R & D Sections this seems a doubtful claim)

1996 VARIOMATIC, the planet's first program for the automated optimisation of compression, is started.

1997 BOMAG's 40th anniversary - more website growth with a fresh powder coating plant.

1998 / 1999 as VARIOCONTROL The successful VARIOMATIC system is adapted to be used on rollers; communications center and a new demonstration area opens in Boppard; the plant is expanded by about 9000 m2 for new light gear construction, warehousing and electric assembly plant.

The Boppard plant is extended with the inclusion of new Transport and Customer Centres.

2001 Start of the ASPHALT SUPERVISOR, the sole system world-wide for optimum compaction and compaction management on asphalt layers. Change within the parent company: SPX Corporation, Charlotte, NC, among the most successful American conglomerates, gets BOMAG.

Opening of the brand-new factory-building.

2003 Startup of the of the newest spray-painting and powdercoating plant for large parts.

2005 BOMAG is got by the FAYAT-Group. FAYAT is the largest independent group in France's personal and national development sector and manages in 6 core businesses: building and public works, steelworks, electricity, electronics and INFORMATION technology, road gear, materials handling and hoisting gear and eventually pressure vessels.

2006 BOMAG assumes responsibility for the asphalt machines business of the FAYAT subsidiary FAYAT Marini. Including chilly milling machines and road pavers.

2007 BOMAG celebrates its 50th Business Anniversary with an afterwards record year: around 2000 workers create a turnover in excess of 600 million euros.

In 2011 the BW double drum dashboard 5 range was started.
