Great Wall brand history

Great Wall Motor Company Limited is the biggest private maker of autos in China.

Established in 1976, trucks were only manufactured by Great Wall initially, not creating a sedan until 2008.

As an instance of the Chinese automaker which not just talked of exporting to international markets for example also the UNITED States and Europe hailed, Chinese Wall entered the European market in 2006, selling little vans. That same year found it exporting goods to approximately 60 countries.

By 2008 the business had established "secure and consolidated advertising and service stations" in 81 countries and had 400 aftersales service centers abroad.

Great Wall's chief production location is in Baoding, Hebei province.

There are no less than six foreign "knock down factories" that create Great Wall models from entire knock down kits; in Russia, Indonesia, Iran, Nigeria, Ukraine and Vietnam. These factories aren't necessarily associated with or owned by Great Wall. The Indonesian company WICM and both the Iranian motor company Diar, a subsidiary of Indomobil Group, assemble Great Wall vehicles from entire knock-down kits.

With the Bulgarian business Litex, Great Wall is constructing a production base within the town of Lovech that, as soon as it becomes operational in 2011, may have a production capacity of 50,000 vehicles each year.

In since the car too closely resembles a Fiat Panda 2008 an Italian court prohibited sales of the Great Wall Peri within the European Union. Great Wall continued selling the vehicle beyond the EU, yet.
