Toyota tries to make easier and safer driving for elderly people

Every year there are more and more old people in Japan. According to some estimates by 2040 the percentage of 65-aged people will increase to 30% there. We should not pay attention to some financial problems in Japan but it may entail real chaos on roads.
By Toyota information half of all traffic accidents happen because of elderly drivers and 50 percent of traffic accidents caused by absence of proper attention to these people.
And that's why the auto manufacturer has chosen 50 drivers from 65 age and older to observe their driving. But who are we talking about? About teenagers writing messages at the steering wheel or the elderly? Because the driving style of both groups leaves much to be desired.
Toyota tries to solve these problems by equipping onboard cameras detecting stop signs and red traffic lights at crossroads, aural and visual warnings systems that inform a driver about high speed when approaching crossroads.
The Company hopes to come to nothing any dangerous situations with participation of elderly drivers using modern innovations but unfortunately we have no idea how all this technology adversely affects us…
