The Franklin Automobile Company was an American maker of autos in america between 1902 and 1934 in Syracuse, NY.
In 1902, the Franklin car was introduced. Franklin assumed control of the business, because he was the main investor, and named the automobile making department Franklin Automobile Organization. As president, he managed the business finances and company administration. Wilkinson was named chief engineer and granted control of the making and engineering operation.
Throughout its history, Franklin was a luxurious brand and competed with other upscale autos of the day.
