New Ford GT, 2015 Detroit Automobile ShowEnlarge PhotoThe Ford Motor Company [NYSE:F] lately began public street trials of its own new GT supercar that's likely to sail into showrooms late next year, as a 2017 version. While the Ford GT is not anticipated to begin racing until the 2016 motor sport time, to coincide with a simplified GT racing format being released for important contests including the USCC and WEC, we might get our first-look at the racing edition of the super-car as early as next month's 2 4 Hrs of Lemans.
The advice comes from Motor Sport, which likewise reports an initial shake-down test of the newest race vehicle took place earlier this month in the Calabogie Motorsports Park in Ontario, with Scott Maxwell of racecar constructor Multimatic Motorsports the first to push it.
