His dad was a blacksmith in Missouri By and from him Erik Lundgren got his ability for building points. He raced around in a variety of automobiles, frequently with his wife Ulla as codriver.
 
Erik Lundgren sold tuning things and assembled and it was during their own experiments he discovered that plastic was an exceptional material for gas lines. In the mid1950s he learned of a burnedout Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint and got the idea to create their own plastic bodywork for this.
