74-year-old crashes into store, killing mom shopping

HOUSTON - A sport-utility vehicle driven with a 74-year old girl smashed to the front of the southeast Houston supermarket, killing a mother shopping wither her daughter and sister, and injuring six other peopleThe crash occurred at 1:40 p.m. Monday at the HEB supermarket at Houston's Gulfgate heart. Authorities spokesman Kese Smith claims the girl had set her sport utility vehicle in reverse to back from a handicapped parking place. It is unclear why the car crashed to the super market."It was like a bowling pin because there were like 1-5 individuals across the entrance," shopper Fred Davis told CBS affiliate KHOU.The motorist of the gray SUV slammed through the front doors, shattering glass and knocking out money registers. Smith stated the two workers were treated for minor injuries in the scene. Five clients were carried to hospitals. A 31-yearold girl died in a hospital, while Smith's sister and 2-yearold daughter were being treated for slight injuries. No states were accessible for another two wounded customers.
