BMW introduced its 2-Series in Detroit last week
The presented novelty is a replacement of both convertible and coupe models of 1-Series. The new modern and stylish car was introduced at the annual Detroit show last week.
The 2-Series is offered in the 228i and M 235i. The basic version is expected to cost about 33,000 dollars, while the M performance variant will cost 44,000 dollars.
Now we will examine both models in details. The first one is the 228i, which is equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that is able to produce the output of 240 horsepower with the torque of 258 lb-ft. The second model is more powerful; it is the M 235i, which gets a 3.0-liter six-cylinder straight mounted turbocharged engine issuing the power of 322 horsepower and the torque of 332 lb-ft.
Both novelties have the six-speed manual transmission as standard but the auto manufacturer offers the eight-speed gearbox as an optional feature.
The new representatives of the 2-Series will come on the auto market at the end of this year. The carmaker has said to increase the range of 2-series by launching more models.
