BMW presents its new Gran Coupe of 4-series this year
This year the carmaker is preparing to introduce a coupe with four doors based on a sedan.
Interior of the novelty includes basic common characteristics and features, which both coupes of 3- and 4-series have. However, there is more spacious inside due to split-folding seatbacks.
The 2014 Gran Coupe is planned to be launched in 435i and 428i versions. The 428i will be equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine produces the power of 240 horsepower; the 435i version has a 3.0-liter six-cylinder in-line turbocharged engine, which is able to issue the output of 300 horsepower. All models sold on the U.S. market will be available with the eight-speed automatic gearbox. The Gran Coupe 428i will be also offered with all-wheel drive xDrive.
The 428i version accelerates from 0 mph to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds while the 435i version needs just 4.9 seconds for accelerating from 0 mph to 60 mph.
Although the novelty gets the same track width, wheelbase and length, the Gran Coupe has some changings such as a roof became longer by 4.4 inches and higher by 0.5 inches as well.
The new BMW Gran Coupe will be available in various packages: Sport, Luxury and even M sport.
We will have an opportunity to look at the novelty at the auto show, which will take place in Geneva next month.
The Gran Coupe will cost of the starting price of 41,225 dollars depending on version. The first sales are planned at the beginning of this summer.
