Driver attempting to take selfie crashes car, police say

ORIENT, Maine -- A motorist in Maine attempting to shoot a selfie with his buddies crashed right into a tree on the weekend, according to authorities.CBS Boston reports the motorist, 29-year old Jordan Toner, of Hampden, was in a packed vehicle when he crashed into a tree. Maine State Authorities say Toner and his seven passengers were driving in Orient when the crash happened."Toner leaned around to shoot a 'selfie' image along with his buddies, and ran off the highway right into a tree," authorities said in a statement.CBS Boston reports that two girls sitting in the front-passenger seat endured the worst accidents. Authorities say neither were wearing a seat belt. One girl fractured her nose as well as another was hospitalized for neck and potential back harms.CBS Boston reports that two other guys in the vehicle sustained slight injuries. The travellers were all-in their 20s and 30s.Toner is defined to appear in court for, "Neglecting to keep control of a car as a result of being diverted." Read Source
