Limo crash kills four bridesmaids on Long Island

Last Up-Dated Jul 19, 2015 1:24 PM EDTCUTCHOGUE, NY -- Authorities say an intoxicated motorist was detained after his pick-up up truck slammed right into a limousine, creating an accident that killed four girls and severely injured two others on the eastern end-of Long Island Saturday evening. The crash occurred around 6 p.m. in Cutchogue on the North Fork of Long Island, reviews CBS New York.The limousine driver, and seven girls who were part of a bachelorette celebration, were in the limousine which had only left a nearby Winery.Functionaries said the limousine was heading east bound on Route 4-8 when it tried to make a u turn westbound. The truck then seemingly t-boned the limousine. Three girl died on impact and an other woman girl perished a limited time after at Taconic Bay Hospital. All were bridesmaids, CBS New York reports. Their names weren't immediately released, but authorities told the Associated Press these were were from the Nyc region. The police chief stated it was among the worst injuries he's ever seen. The crash was so violent, it almost cut the limousine in half. 2 of the other girls, for example, bride, are in critical state. The limousine driver is likely to live, authorities said. The driver of the truck was carried to the hospital for lacerations on his face. Authorities tell CBS New York the motorist was arrested for DUI. His identity hasn't yet been released. Southold Police Chief Martin Flatley told the Associated Press the motorist initially fled the scene, but was so on captured. The identities of the casualties never have been introduced, but the four girls who died were from the Nyc region. Neighbor Diana was on-the-scene soon following the crash."It Is so depressed since I discovered that girls in the limo could have existed for the bachelorette party so that you understand something like this occurring .. It is crazy," Diana stated.
