Mercedes is working on a subcompact crossover concept
Recently, the German auto manufacturer Mercedes established the new center R&D in China. That Chinese center will produce a new model of the G-Code based on a new concept car. The future novelty is planned to be smaller than the current GLA-class and meet competition with models such as Audi Q1 and Mini Cooper Countryman.
According to the carmaker, Mercedes plans to enter the segment of the premium subcompact cars due to introduction of such model.
Currently, the G-Code model is not planned to be brought into the production but the automaker is working on technical and design details and features.
It is known, the novelty will be equipped with a powertrain consists of the internal combustion engine and the electric motor. However, the system will be able to work in different driving models includes the sporty mode, too.
Certainly, there are many different technical features, which will make a car to be unique strating form a suspension to the infotainment system inside.
We know, the Mercedes auto manufacturer plans to present the concept G-Code in Los Angeles this month. But the novelty will be also presented at the Consumer Electronics Show, which takes place the upcoming year.
