Toyota teases new 2016 Hilux pickup

Toyota's Thai office has released a dim teaser picture that previews the next generation Hi-Lux, a solid Tacoma-sized pick-up sold in an extended set of worldwide markets.
The teaser picture reveals small, but an earlier flow shows the eighth-gen Hi-Lux gets an infinitely more contemporary-looking layout defined by elongated headlights, a sculpted hood and wide wheel arches. The front-end is controlled with a three-slat grille as well as a collection of LED day-time operating lights. Mechanically, the Hi-Lux will develop two new turbo-diesel four-cylinder engines that have been introduced lately at the 2015 Vienna Motor Symposium. The entry level factory is a 2.4-liter unit that creates about 160 hp and 295 pound-ft. of torque, while customers after more grunt can purchase a 2.8-liter four-banger tuned to create about 180 hp and a stout 332 pounds-ft. of torque.
