A new replacement for the Vantage

Recently, Aston Martin has been noticed at the Nürburgring track testing of a new modular platform DB9, which has to be a replacement for the Vantage.
The novelty has the body of V12 Vantage but with wide wheel arches and a new stretched wheelbase.
The carmaker confirmed the novelty will be equipped with the new V8 unit including electrical systems. However, it is so early time to know that information. In addition, the new platform will be able to get the 6.0-liter V12 engine, developed by Ford.
So, the new generation of the DB9 platform will be presented by 2016 and replace the current Vantage. That means, Aston Martin has enough time for working on two versions of sports cars.
The new platform is made of aluminum that allows reducing weight of the car but make it more rigid as well.
Most likely, the novelty will be equipped with the new Mercedes AMG’s 4.0-liter V8 twin turbocharged engine producing the output of 500 horsepower. The novelty has to get the eight-speed automatic gearbox, but certainly, there will be a manual one offered too.
