Actor Idris Elba sets UK land speed record

Celebrity Idris Elba, recognized for his work on Luther and The Wire, has damaged the 'Traveling Mile' UK land-speed record driving of the Bentley Continental GT Rate.
Elba piloted the GT Rate into a top rate of 180.361mph on the shores of Pendine Sands, Wales, besting the old record of 174.8miles per hour place by Sir Malcolm Campbell manner back in 1927. The UK Timing Association was on hand to check the record-setting run."I am totally elated to have damaged the 'Flying Mile' at Pendine Sands," Elba stated. "It is an honour to have taken on the the task, and to effectively follow in the footsteps of the illustrious Sir Malcolm Campbell."The document run was filmed for Elba's Discovery Collection show, Idris Elba: No-Limits. The episode featuring the 'Traveling Mile' will air in July.Given better climate circumstances and a little more "route," Elba may have posted a substantially more rapid time; the Bentley Continental GT Rate and its 6L W-12 are truly capable of reaching 206mph.
