According to the statement of the representative of the BMW Group, the auto manufacturer does not plan increasing production by introducing a new model of the i-range. We would like to remind, the BMW i is a brand’s lineup of electric vehicles.
Last November, BMW presented its i3 on the German auto market. This compact green hatchback has been ordered over 10,000 times since it came to dealer rooms.
Now days BMW is launching i3 and i8 hybrid cars, which firstly come on sale this spring and introduction of a new model is delayed until development of electric vehicles market.
The brand’s production chief said that the carmaker was not ready to start production hybrid cars for the largest car market in the world –in China. Now the BMW 3-series and 5-series are launched at the BMW Chinese plant in Shenyang. BMW carries out these models production jointly with its Chinese partner Brilliance China Automotive.
Besides, the auto manufacturer has begun collaboration with the SGL Carbon, which manufactures and provide the BMW Group with lightweight carbon fiber-reinforced plastic.
