BMW rolls its new M2

The 2-series is on its updating. The carmaker has made decision to update the brand’s systems in some series. We are happy to present you a new luxury sporty coupe, especially in the M 235i model. According to the auto manufacturer, the novelty is planned to come on the streets by the end of this year.

Firstly, we were sure the new M2 producing would be started in 2013, but, currently it has been known the BMW 2-series will come on launching at the end of this year and soon after appear on the auto market. The latest time when the new M2 may be begun selling early in 2016.

Even the previous year, we got some details on reducing of the weight of the updated M2 as much as equipping of a new powertrain. According to the carmaker, the new M2 will lose the weight by 300 pounds to compare with the previous model.
The powertrain is expected to be also updated. The novelty would be equipped with the S55 powertrain borrowed from the latest M4 and M3 models. That powertrain is the 3.0-liter six-cylinder in-line turbocharged engine, producing the output of 425 horsepower and the torque of 406 lb-ft.

However, the new M2 may be equipped with the N55 borrowed from M235i. That updated powertrain is 3.0-liter six-cylinder turbocharged engine, which is able to produce the output of 320 horsepower as well.

Moreover, the new M2 will get a powertrain, which will produce the output of from 350 to 400 horsepower.

Besides updating in the powertrain, the novelty gets redesign of the exterior. The new M2 gets renewed fenders as well as new tires and wheels, receptively, which have become wider than the previous version has. In addition, the updated front bumper is equipped with some aero elements that are common for the latest M lineup.

Thus, the new M2 gets a lot from the redesigned M235i. There is an updated suspension; the brand’s M Division traction and stability control calibration, as well as the mechanical limited-slip rear differential adding the performance for the novelty.
