Bentley plans 90 per cent of its model equipped with hybrid powertrains
In Beijing, the Bentley manufacturer introduced its new hybrid concept car –the Mulsanne SUV, which equipped with the eco-friendly technologies.
After this presentation, the carmaker declared its plans to offer hybrid options for 90 per cent of Bentley’s models by 2010.
According to the carmaker, the hybrid luxury models are the prospective future for Bentley. The auto manufacturer hope to be the first developer in the super luxury segment.
Currently Bentley has not opened all its secrets about its innovative hybrid system. It is known that this hybrid system will include three modes: the combined hybrid, electric and gas.
The presented Mulsanne concept is equipped with the V8 twin turbocharged engine. However, the auto manufacturer says the future hybrid cars will be equipped with the standard V6 engine. Bentley plans to increase the power by 25 per cent while reduce CO2 emission by 70 per cent.
This hybrid option will be offered in cars of 2017 model year.
