Cape Coral Parkway may have a brand new car within another year or so. The Cape Coral City Council voted 5-3 Monday night to overturn the city's Board of Zoning Adjustment and Attractiveness rejection of BK Sunlight Properties' program to include a $4.5-million-car wash at 1707 Cape Coral Parkway East. After Monday's vote, Jay Monpetit and his co-proprietors, including his son Troy, can progress with the planned building of their third carwash in the town. The newest facility may also add a pet wash creating. The website will even result in the development of about 30 to 50 occupations. Mayor Marni Sawicki and council members Williams and Burch opposed the charm. Those three also supported a movement that could have affirmed the board's first denial."We Are just thrilled that we are definitely going in order to enlarge in the Cape, pour some cash to the Cape and employ some people," Troy Monpetit stated following the vote. But the route to having the carwash was filled with doubt. After drawn-out presentations from both town staff as well as the Monpetit's advisors - along with multiple assistants and workers of the Downtowner Car-Wash - council initially contemplated a motion to refuse the appeal. That movement was produced by Burch and supported by Williams and Sawicki. Burch stated the choice had not been a simple one and that he supported the Downtowner Car-Wash growth"We up here would like to see that (financial advancement)," Burch said."... I presume it is an excellent thing that every one of these folks came out to you. However they do not always have to be on that lot. ... There is manya vacant lot in the South Cape."Burch's movement was meant by isolated murmuring in the blue-top-clad admirers of the vehicle wash. Vincent Cautero, Neighborhood Development Director mentioned the problem using the Monpetit's use comes down to three bits of town regulations."It Is the specific exemptions beneath the Land Development Program, the Comprehensive Program as well as the Downtown Redevelopment Strategy," Cautero stated. Cautero said town employees as well as the Board of Zoning Adjustment and Charm had a different interpretation than the five members of council."But that is for council to determine," Cautero said. The choice by council members John Carioscia, Lenny Nesta, Richard Leon, Rana Erbrick and Derrick Donnell to to aid the charm was satisfied by applause in the several dozen assistants."I can count on one-hand how many times I Have differed with town personnel," Erbrick stated. Erbrick said she wished to investigate the Monpetit's readiness to work together with the town on several states because of its acceptance. The movement passed Monday demands the unique landscaping, layout and accessibility limitations. By way of example, the planned car wash might not have direct entries leading from or onto Cape Coral Parkway. The new-car clean may also need to remove an alleyway that runs between both lots which will constitute the lot."After that gets completed, it needs to be about half a year before we are up and working," Troy Monpetit stated.
