First drive of the newest Toyota Camry XLE
The Toyota Camry of this model year is a quite new model. The car has gotten new details both inside and outside. The new Camry for the auto market of the North America was updated in 2012, so that model is of the seventh generation.
According to the auto manufacturer, the new Camry has gotten about 2,000 details and parts for the 2015 model year.
The renewed exterior includes a renewed grille, LED running lights and new side intakes.
The car’s body is increased the length by 1.8 inches and the width by 0.4 inches. However, the wheelbase is still without changes.
The interior includes some new technical features such as the 4.2-inch screen TFT, the wireless charging for smartphones and other compatible devices. The design of the interior is the LE trim with contrast stitching.
The new Camry is equipped with the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which is able to produce the output of 178 horsepower and the torque of 170 lb-ft. Meanwhile, the novelty will be available with the 3.5-liter V6 engine, which produces the output of 268 horsepower and the torque of 248 lb-ft. That powertrain is offered as an optional feature.
The novelty is offered in the XSE and XLE trims. Both trims have accents borrowed from Lexus, but at the same time, the high premium details are offered for common prices. The 2.5-liter powertrain consume 25 mpg in a city, 35 mpg on highways and 28 mpg in the combined driving mode. The transmission is the six-speed automatic with the Dual VVT-I technology.
The automaker is planning to launch a hybrid version of the Camry soon.
The carmaker promises to sell the new Camry for the starting price of 26,975 dollars.
