Ford expands Takata airbag recall roster

Ford declared Thursday that it's growing its roster of automobiles at the mercy of the Takata air-bag inflator recall effort. The growth contains several model-years of the Mustang, Ranger and GT super-car.
The absolute amount of Ford automobiles now at the mercy of the recall has has now reached 1,509,535.The growth covers 2005-2014 Ford Mustang automobiles assembled at Flat Rock Assembly Plant for driver-side air-bag inflators, 2005-2006 Ford GT automobiles assembled at Wixom Assembly Plant for driver-side air-bag inflators, 2004 Ford Rangers assembled in The United States at Edison Assembly Plant and 2004-2006 Ford Rangers assembled at Twin Cities Construction for passenger-side air-bag inflators. Ford formerly remembered all Ford Mustangs constructed at Flat Rock Assembly between August 18, 2004 and June 25, 2007 and all Ford GTs constructed between Feb. 1 1, 2005 and January 30, 2006 at Wixom Assembly.
Ford is only the most recent manufacturing company to enlarge its Takata effort by the end of May. Mazda, Mitsubishi, Subaru, FCA and Honda all put into their recall software this week, enlarging the business roll by over five million automobiles as the complete world-wide impact seems poised to surpass 40-million units.
