Ford opens its research and development center in Russia

Ford and an automaker Sollers in Russia have begun their joint venture – Ford Sollers to establish the research and development center for adapting Ford cars for the Russian market.
According to the official statement of the auto manufacturer, the center will work in St. Petersburg, Moscow and Tatarstan.
The joint venture has been already launching models such as a mid-sized crossover Ford Kuga, a big crossover Ford Explorer, Mondeo cars and some vans and minivans (Transit, S-Max, Tourneo custom and Galaxy) in Tatarstan and St. Petersburg.
The Ford brand has invested to expand its launching on the Russian market thereby increasing the brand’s influence in Russia and updating some models.
Unfortunately, because of the Russian economic fall, the Ford sales have gone down for the latest half a year.
