General Motors expands production in Russia
In 2008, General Motors invested 300 million dollars to establish a plant in Russia to produce such models as Opel Astra, Chevrolet Cruze and Trailblazer.
Because of international situation connected with Russia, the annual selling capacity of all models of General Motors dropped. In spite of even in 2012, the carmaker planned to increase annual launching to 230,000 vehicles, but GM had to reduce capacity.
During first seven months, sales of cars went down 10 per cent.
Moreover, other Western carmakers had to reduce cars launching because of dropping annual selling of models in the Russian auto market. For example, the Ford auto manufacturer also slowed the joint venture with Sollers.
