Have you seen the latest Fiat 500X
Recently Fiat made decision to start production of the all-wheel-drive variant of its popular 500 model. Owing to this model, the carmaker hopes to occupy the significant part of the subcompact cars’ segment in the world.
Now we would like to share some new spy photos of the crossover prototype, which is expected to be called as the 500X as well.
Certainly, we are sure that the four-wheel-drive version will not get absolutely new details and parts in its exterior because the novelty looks similar to the version of the 2012 model year. However, the clearance of the prototype has become higher.
The future 500X crossover is built on the 500L. In addition, as we are able to notice the future crossover is as the same as the new Jeep Renegade. By the way, both models are produced at the Fiat’s factory in Turin.
The novelty is expected to have the length of 13.7 feet that will make it the largest model in the family of 500. According to the carmaker, the 500X will be available in front-wheel and all-wheel drives.
The powertrain of the future novelty will be the same as the 500L has. It will be the 1.4-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine producing the power of 160 horsepower and the torque of 184 lb-ft. The standard gearbox is expected to be the six-speed manual one; meanwhile, the dual-clutch gearbox will be also available. Moreover, the auto manufacturer plans to add a turbo diesel engine as well.
The new 500X is the sixth model in the 500 family of Fiat. There is the regular hatchback 500, the convertible 500c, the MPV model 500L, the electric car 500e and, certainly, the sports model 500 Abarth.
The carmaker said that the official presentation of the new crossover will take place next year and the coming on sale will be also scheduled for the same year.
