Jaguar is working on its new F-Pace

Recently, a new prototype of the next crossover SUV of Jaguar has been noticed. The future novelty is based on the Jaguar C-X17 concept car, which was presented at the auto show in Frankfurt two years ago.

The model might be called the Q-Type or XQ, but the auto manufacturer has confirmed that the novelty was the F-Pace as well.

Moreover, Jaguar has also confirmed the F-Pace is connected with the F-Type sporty vehicles. In addition, the designers of Jaguar are not going to change anything in a production version and the model will come on the auto market as beautiful as the amazing concept.

What about the design inside, there is the interior is similar to the latest sedan Jaguar XE, which is expected to come on the auto market as the 2017 model. Probably, the production version of the crossover may be slightly changed but the F-Pace will be equipped with the infotainment InControl system.

According to the carmaker, the F-Pace is aimed to meet the competition with the premium crossovers such as the Mercedes GLC, which is the GLK-class of the next generation and the BMW X3.

The new Jaguar’s crossover is built on the iQ platform, which was firstly used in the XE. The modular platform consists of the improved lightweight aluminum architecture. The model has advanced dynamics and better fuel efficiency.

The iQ modular platform was based on the premium lightweight architecture of Land Rover. The iQ platform is light but stiff enough. Moreover, that platform is able to be equipped with any powertrains including diesel, plug-in hybrid and battery motors as well.

The F-Pace will be equipped with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine as a base variant and the 3.0-liter V6 supercharged unit. The gearbox is the eight-speed automatic and offered as the standard feature in spite of the powertrain.

The auto manufacturer is planning to begin the F-Pace production at the brand’s plant in the U.K. The novelty is coming on sale next year as the car of 2017 model year.
