Latest Mercedes AMG GT and GT S are previewed
Finally, one of the largest German auto manufacturer has presented the GT version. Certainly, we are talking about the Mercedes Benz with its AMG GT.
The new Mercedes AMG GT is designed as a rival for the Porsche 911. Mercedes has improved comfort, quality and experience and certainly the car performance.
Owing to the motivation, Mercedes has all chances to enter the segment of top class sport cars.
The novelty is available with the GT and GT S versions. The first, GT, is equipped with the 4.0-liter V8 twin turbocharged M178 engine, which is able to produce the output of 456 horsepower and the torque of 443 lb-ft.
That powertrain can accelerate the car from 0 mph to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds; the maximum speed is 189 mph.
The second version, GT S, is equipped with a more powerful unit, which is able to issue the power of 503 horsepower and the torque of 479 lb-ft.
Its acceleration is from 0 mph to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds. The electrically limited speed is 193 mph.
The special construction of the novelty allows distributing the weight by 47 per cent to the fron axle and 53 per cent to the back one. Due to the aluminum frame, the car body weighs just 509 pounds.
Both versions have the standard seven-speed dual-clutch transaxle. The novelty is available with rear-wheel-drive.
New electrical features help a driver to handle a car both performance and safety.
The standard AMG variant includes three modes: Controlled efficiency (C), Sport (S) and Sport Plus (S+). Both new GT and GT S have the additional Individual (I) mode allows selecting gearbox, damper, engine and some settings at a driver’s will.
The GT S version is also equipped with the RACE mode, which includes additional adjusts of dual-clutch gearbox and quicker shifters.
Both versions get modern improved technical features and assist systems that make the driving more comfortable and safety.
