Maserati BiTurbo resurrected through digital renderings
1847
The Maserati BiTurbo was brought back to life by the Malaysian “automotive manipulator” Theophilus Chin.
The virtual project is based on the Ghibli sedan and features smaller front grille and modified front bumper. Chin has also revised the headlights shape, while the entire vehicle is shorter.
The designer says the BiTurbo model “remains one of the most beautiful Maseratis ever” and that this new idea could “mark Maserati’s return to the compact executive segment”.
The BiTurbo was introduced by the Italian company back in 1981. A two-door, four-seater version came first, while a four-door sedan was presented two years later. The car was designed by Pierangelo Andreani, an engineer from the De Tomaso team, and was available with 2.0, 2.5 and 2.8 V6 bi-turbo engines. A 3-speed automatic transmission and a 5-speed manual gearbox were offered.
