Mercedes Benz Gets Its Glow On, Introduces Illuminated Three Pointed Star Symbols
The three pointed star symbol, whether it resides floating above a Mercedes-Benz's hood or it is stuffed into the grille, is one-of the very recognizable brand marks on the planet. Even so, Benz believes the star can carry even more, er, star power , and it has introduced a brand new alternative for illuminating the symbol. But hey---luxury buyers' demand to flaunt their purchases does not wait for sunlight.
Benz's LED illuminated badge comes in the Mercedes accessories catalogue, and is dealer installed. (Starting in August, the units could be ordered with new - interface Benzes and installed.)) Only a lit front star is accessible, and now it's suitable for the C-, E-, GL-, GLK-, M-, and CLS-groups. Buyers will be set by the extra-bright star back $ 480 before installing if ordered through a dealer, while port installed units run $ 550 but carry no additional installing fee. Critically, the awesome badge is not compatible with Benz's Distronic radar based adaptive cruisecontrol set up, which works behind the symbol.
In case the vehicle is started or the doors are subsequently shut, it turns off. We kind of like the appearance of the lightup Mercedes star, but we are cautious of others doing something similar. For example, with-the present My Badge - Is Bigger - Than Your - Badge war being waged among fullsize pickup trucks, we are not certain illumination is needed by football-sized logos.
