Mercedes G-class celebrates its 35-year anniversary
This year, one of the popular SUV celebrates its 35th anniversary. In spite of some updating during these years, the Mercedes G-class could keep its unique style and original military design, which the car got even in 1979, when it was first introduced to the world.
Currently, the SUV is available in a special 35 Edition version, which is offered in G500 and G350 BlueTEC abroad.
The exterior is offered in three main body colors: white, silver and black. The novelty gets redesigned roof, side mirrors, bumpers and the wheel arches; in addition, the 35 Edition version will wear 18-inch wheels. Moreover, the buyers will be able to choose the Sports Pack including a chrome grille, wider wheel arches in the AMG style and sporty exhaust system.
The interior of the G-class 35 edition includes the leather finish and some chrome accents. Also there is the contrast stitching and a dashboard covered by leather; the novelty gets the steering wheel in the AMG style and a roof lime in black microfiber.
Last year, the carmaker planned to stop production of the G-class launching the final edition; however, Mercedes could not do it because of increasing demand for that model in Russia and China.
The G-class SUV of the 35 edition is expected on the market by 2017. According to the auto manufacturer, the novelty will be equipped with more fuel-efficient and lightweight engines and improved technologies of stability and handling.
