Name That Shifter, No. 214: 1963 Mercedes-Benz 230SL

On Monday, we requested you to identify the make and version it came and presented this week's shifter.
We examined a virtually identical version, although the 230SL pictures shown here are from our archives. When new, the 230SL replaced the four- 190SL cylinder as well as the epic poem, six-cylinder (and direct-injected!) 300SL. While much less racy its own as a quick, comfy GT car was held by the 230 --basically putting the basis for the SL class line that endures to today.
