New Opel Insignia is planned to be introduced in 2016
The Opel engineers are working on development and testing new technologies and features for the present generation of Insignia Sports Tourer, in addition, this updating is planned using in the new Insignia, which is planned to be launched in 2016.
As you know, this model is one of the best-selling models, which are produced by General Motors. The auto manufacturer sells the Insignia cars on the U.S., Chinese and European markets. By the way, the Insignia is badged as a Buick Regal in China.
Currently, we are not able to notice significant changings in a test vehicle; however, according to spy shots, the future novelty gets a renewed hood.
Unfortunately, there is no information what engines will be put into the next generation of Insignia.
The model is built on the Epsilon II including a front-wheel drive. Moreover, the redesigned Insignia will have the style of the Opel Monza concept, which was presented last year.
General Motors uses the platform Epsilon II in a wide range of its models: Cadillac XTS, Buick LaCrosse and both Impala and Malibu of the Chevrolet marque.
