PSA defends high self registrations for upscale DS cars

PARIS -- DS Cars, the most youthful brand in PSA/Peugeot-Citroen's secure, has defended the large number of vehicles it sells through so called self enrollments, a practice that damages profitability.
The approach is helping foster recognition for the up scale marque among prospective buyers, DS CEO Yves Bonnefont stated. "There's not any better method to know and recognize DS's premiumness than driving among our automobiles. This can be the reason we raised the fleet for test-drives," Bonnefont told Automotive News Europe.
Almost fifty per cent of DS revenue in Germany, Europe's largest marketplace, were self enrollments in comparison with a market average of 32%, figures from industry research workers DataForce show. The amount was 2-9% in Italy (industry common 9.7%); 26% in Spain (6.7% common); 2 4% in France (16% average) and 7.7% in the United Kingdom (11% common).
Self-enrollments are where retailers sell automobiles to themselves without having client orders. The automobiles can be utilized in evaluation fleets but are frequently sold to private purchasers in a higher reduction.
