Not long time ago we heard some rumors that Macan equipped with a diesel powertrain would be introduced in the U.S. auto market, and finally, that information has been confirmed by the auto manufacturer.
According to the Vice president of marketing in the American Porsche branch, the first diesel Macans will be available for the U.S. buyers in about a year.
Currently, the carmaker is working on development and production of the model, which is equipped with the V6 diesel unit, producing the output of about 245 horsepower.
The future novelty will get the 3.0-liter V6 turbocharged diesel engine, which was used in the Cayenne S Diesel and the Macan S Diesel for selling abroad. The novelty is expected to be officially presented at the show in Los Angeles next year.
However, the carmaker says the diesel version may cost more expensive than its gasoline variant, which has the price of 51,095 dollars.
In addition, the Macan equipped with the four-cylinder unit would not be sold in the U.S. auto market.
