Refreshed MINI Countryman
The present MINI Countryman was updated last year for the 2015 model year; however, the car is on the updating now too. A prototype of the next generation of compact crossover has been recently noticed. We have been able to see that the prototype is larger than the present version of the Countryman. According to that, we may suppose, the novelty gets more space inside.
The novelty is based on the new UKL platform which has been already used latest Mini Hardtop and Hardtop 4 Door versions. The new Mini Hardtop with five doors is available on other auto markets except in the U.S.
The same UKL modular platform is used in the 2-series Active Tourer and X1 of BMW.
We are expecting the novelty in its basic version offered with the front-wheel-drive as standard. Meanwhile, the brand’s all-wheel-drive ALL4 system is offered as an optional feature. Although, the performance variants such as John Cooper Works and Cooper S Countryman are available with the ALL4 option and the peak output of 228 horsepower.
The powertrains will be available with the basic 1.5-lietr three-cylinder engine and the Cooper S and JCM versions are equipped with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The gearbox is offered in the six-speed manual gearbox and six-speed automatic, but the final comes as an optional feature.
In addition, the novelty gets more new safety systems such as parking assistance, pedestrian warning system, collision warning system and others.
The carmaker will roll the novelty next year as a car of 2017 model year. But before the introduction, we will share you other details on the latest Mini Countryman.
