Renault Confirms Renault Twingo RS is Out of Production
Renault are ready to build the next generation of Twingo but have confirmed that they will not be building an RS version in the next generation. The 133bhp is no longer in production and there are very few available in UK dealerships, The small car was fun to drive and pretty nippy as well.
If they do change their minds and build a new generation RS it is likelt that it will be a turbo anyway which will mean that it will be a completely different character of car, making it mopre in line with the Megane RS or Clio RS. But insiders in the company have said that if it is built, it will not have a double clutch box, like the Clio because that will be too expensive and complicated for such a cheap car.
There is a lot of hope that there will be a Twingo RS though. There are other car manufacturers that have done the same thing and then eventually brought back the car with a much improved spec. This is possible, but is unlikely in the very near future. We may just have to be patient and hope that Renault see sense!
