Something new about the 2015 Porsche 911 GT3 RS
The last Porsche of 2015 will come on sale only in the second half of next year but as has been already known the new model will have a dual-clutch transmission.
The RS model has a wider body than the common car of 911 –series by 1.7 inches. A cabin is made of carbon fiber to reduce the weight the chassis. There are other technological options such as a short final drive ratio, the improved aerodynamics and a stiffened suspension.
The new model will be available with the four-wheel steering system as a feature.
Engineers have not made the final decision what engine to put into the RS. They have a choice between a 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine producing 475 horsepower and a 4-liter engine, which was used in the latest Porsche 911 RSR – a winner in its class of the 24 Hours Le Mans this year.
The new 911 GT3 RS will be available in two standard configurations: “black” or “arctic silver”. In addition, this model will be able to be painted in in brilliant orange or green as a feature. The black interior of the 911 GT3 RS is completely confirmed to a racecar.
We would remind you that two other extreme Porsche 911 models have not produced yet. They are the 911 GT2 model and the 911 GT2 RS that will be on market in two years, more precisely put in 2015.
