The upgrades will include a new but recognized design, innovative technology such as a new plug-in hybrid powertrain, new aluminum and carbon fiber chassis.
The BMW Company offered using the new combination of carbon fiber reinforced plastic and aluminum in its two models –the electric i3 and i8 hybrid. The main advantage of using these materials is less costs of cars production owing to using carbon fiber.

Using CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastic) by Rolls-Royce will depend on production of this material at the BMW’s plant; the material is planned to use for one thousand new models every year.
Due to this lightweight material, the car’s weight may be decreased to about 5,600 lbs, which allows better car’s dynamic then.
The carmaker has decision to except electrically-only vehicles because of feedbacks on the Rolls-Royce Phantom 102EX concept car. Meanwhile, the plug-in hybrid technology will allow reducing emissions.
Besides a new powertrain, the auto manufacturer hopes to keep the Rolls-Royce style but makes it more edge and charisma.
