Subaru presents new WRX S4 and WRX STI Type S for the home auto market
The Japanese auto manufacturer Subaru presented two new models WRX for the Japanese market. Both novelties are based on the 2015 WRX platform and boosted.
The WRX S4 is equipped with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine with direct injection. Its powertrain is able to produce the boosted output of 296 horsepower with the torque of 295 lb-ft.
As standard, the model gets the symmetrical all-wheel drive, the brand’s electronic safety system EyeSight. In addition, as the carmaker said before, the novelty includes four main “S” characteristics: sophisticated feeling, smart driving, safety and sporty performances. Moreover, the S4 is equipped with the new updated suspension, the brand’s multi-mode cars Dynamic control system and the electric steering wheel.
The appearance of the novelty is also changed. The renewed exterior includes the integrated back diffuser, side sills, custom exhaust pipes, sporty fender ducts in front, a lid spoiler on a trunk, LED headlights and 18-inch wheels. The body color is available in two new types: the Chrystal white pearl and the WR blue pearl.
The second novelty –the WRX STI Type S, is similar to the previous model but gets more improved updated of Subaru such as the multi-mode Driver's Control Center Differential (DCCD) system.
The powertrain is the 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine, producing the power of 305 horsepower with the torque of 311 lb-ft. This version is equipped with the six-speed amnual gearbox as standard.
Both models have been already on sale in Japan. Currently, there is no information about selling in the U.S. as well.
