Test driver kidnapped car salesman, crashed, say Calif cops

CONCORD, California -- Authorities say a Northern California guy kidnapped a car salesman in a test-drive, and then became popular using the automobile, reports CBS San Francisco.The suspect allegedly got into a car having a sales man for Lehmer's Concord Buick-GMC in Concord, Calif., Monday morning, and shortly after told the worker that he was being kidnapped. The defendant also supposedly said he was stealing the automobile. As the "test-driver" drove the vehicle in to Pittsburg, California, in the East Bay, he halted, and the casualty fled on-foot, according to authorities. The defendant was pursued by cops before crashing the van in Antioch, California, about 16 miles from the car dealer. Authorities said they never have yet verified his identity. They did say he is prone to face charges associated with kidnapping, resisting arrest and auto theft.
