The Renault EOLAB concept car
According to the French auto manufacturer, Renault is working on a new model, which will consume only 235 mpg. The Renault offers the EOLAB concept that is oriented on budget customers.
The carmaker plans to use its new technology of the EOLAB concept to other models by 2020 as well.
Due to less weight, a hybrid system and improved aerodynamics, the concept car has the fuel consumption only 235 mpg. Moreover, the automaker worried to use lightweight material and not full a car with many difference optional features, which might not ever be used at all.
The hybrid powertrain includes 1.0-liter three-cylinder gasoline unit and the electric motor, which is integrated with the gearbox. The electric motor is the 6.7 kWh lithium battery that produces the output of about 76 horsepower and is able to drive 41 miles without the main engine.
Renault will present its economy concept car at the auto show in Paris next month. And as the automaker reported, the technology used in the EOLAB concept would be mounted in other French carmaker’s models by 2020.
