The new Mitsubishi’s compact sedan based on the Renault-Nissan model
Currently, the auto manufacturer Mitsubishi is working on development of a new compact sedan, which is planned to be built on the model produced jointly by Renault-Nissan.
Both carmakers declared last week about the launching of two new models of Mitsubishi, which are based on a Renault car. They are planned to be sedans. The one will be sold for Canadian and U.S. auto markets and the second one will be sold around the world.
According to the automaker, the novelty is built on the Renault Latitude produced in South Korea. That middle-sized model has to be brought to the auto market in about three years.
Now, the carmaker has not made decision what badge the novelty will have then. Probably, it may be also both Nissan and Renault.
Moreover, Mitsubishi announced plans to replace some SUVs. For instance, the compact ASX will be replaced in the European auto market. The Shogun SUV, known as Montero and Pajero on the European market will have a replace by 2018. The carmaker also plans to launch plug-in hybrid versions of new SUVs.
This September, in Europe, Mitsubishi sold only 2,767 Lancers while Volkswagen sold about 396,155 Golfs during the period of nine months.
Note, the Volkswagen Golf is the most popular car in Europe.
