The new prototype of Audi Q7 has been noticed recently
As the title says, recently we have seen a new prototype of the Q7, which was tested in Germany. The auto manufacturer declared about this novelty lately but now we knew that this model was changed and updated a little bit. According to the official information, soon it will be ready to come on the market as at the model 2015.
The new Q7 is based on the Volkswagen’s new platform MLB, which is also called as the MLB Evo. This platform is an innovative one that includes the multi-material construction reduces the car’s weight. Moreover, this innovative platform is able to be equipped with alternative drivetrains and powertrains. For example, the carmaker has already confirmed that the new Q7 will be also available with a plug-in hybrid powertrain.
Owing to using the lightweight materials such as carbon fiber and aluminum, the Audi’s engineers are able to reduce the weight of the novelty by over 650 pounds. It is the success! Because the weight of the light version of the regular Q7 is about 5,300 pounds.
In addition, the new large SUV looks nimble enough in spite of its dimensions.
The powertrain of the new Q7 will be offered with both 4.0-liter and 3.0-liter TFSI engines and the 3.0-liter TDI for the U.S. customers. In addition, the auto manufacturer plans to add the plug-in hybrid version of this model. The American buyers will be able to choose the gasoline hybrid powertrain while other world will be offered with the diesel hybrid unit.
