Volkswagen is preparing to show its new crossover with five seats
Next month, there will be the annual auto show in Detroit, the Volkswagen auto manufacturer is preparing for that by working on the new five-seated crossover, which is built on the crossover concept equipped with seven seats that was presented also at the Detroit show but last year.
Most likely, the five-seat novelty will be produced at the factory in Chattanooga in two or three years.
The novelty is based on the brand’s MQB platform, owing to its flexibility, that platform allows using both seven-seat and five-seat versions. In addition, the similar platform is planned to be used in the new Tiguan that comes with five seats in its next generation.
We would like to remind you, recently, Volkswagen has invested 7 billion dollars into the strategy to boost cars selling and the five-seat novelty is also a part of that strategy. According to the carmaker, there will be 800,000 cars selling in the U.S. by 2018. Note, this year, Volkswagen’s sales drop by 11 percent.
So, we are waiting for the auto show in Detroit in January, where we will know any details about the new crossover.
